Capoeira Terreiro da Lua hosted daily classes on Zoom during the global pandemic. In early June 2020, we donated an entire week's of contributions to support the Black Lives Matter movement. With the help of matching opportunities, we were able to contribute $2,102 to racial justice organizations, including Black Lives Matter Greater NYC.

Capoeira Terreiro da Lua and Dendê Arts asked capoeiristas and friends in Greater NYC to join them in raising awareness and money for Amazon Forest fires and conservation. We wanted to show the collective power of our community and our interest in giving back to Brazil and to our planet. We successfully fundraised $695 for the Amazon Conservation Team!
